1 Z5 n; |+ }2 E$ Tresidence in dublin, ireland. the nature of the client's artwork required an open area and the ability to view from an overhead
$ Z' O: Y5 O o6 t6 ]perspective. a garden buffer marks a distinction between the public passage leading to the private workshop. the footprint of 9 R9 r. s* w& G* q
the 5 meter by 5 meter structure is situated between and bounded by the plot's extents. ' O3 T1 y6 [: k2 P

the ground and may view the progress of work from a perimeter path placed at 'ground level'. while standing upon the poured
& C% P' d7 S0 i% rin place concrete ledge, the ceiling is 2.4 meters high and rises to 3.15 meters upon descending into the center of the room. ( Z! ]: }2 {, f% e8 }; o
the monolithic ribbon element bends to form the entry staircase, raised work surface and daybed. the polished finish contrasts R7 w9 O% a$ _- @& s; D! n7 x
the uniform texture of the board-marked floor to roof concrete walls. % j) d ]4 d3 |! C1 G$ i/ S6 A
; i1 b" `" O2 ]% s! A
two strip skylights oriented on a north-south axis introduce the shifting lighting conditions throughout the day. horizontal bands
4 `. U" P' X% [of windows at the base of the enclosure provide views of the surrounding landscape from a seated position while the expansive " [# E8 \8 V6 u. O
and continuous area above is used to exhibit large artworks.% W: V2 Y `) @: u# ?5 s0 R8 O
